Jedora Product Landing Page Enhancements

Overview

Jedora is a jewelry, watches, and gemstones marketplace that brings together brands, designers, and best-in-class manufacturers that implemented a new AI-powered search platform, Algolia. This opened up an opportunity to enhance user experience on the product landing page in the following ways:

Product Swatches
Swatches provide potential buyers with a closer look at different variations of a particular jewelry piece, allowing them to visualize how the product may look in various colors, metals, or gemstone options.

“More Like This”
Featuring related products complements the customer's shopping journey by suggesting complementary items or alternative choices. This not only encourages upselling but also facilitates the creation of a cohesive look.

Advanced Recommendations
By presenting a curated selection of related products, we can inspire customers to explore additional options and increase the likelihood of multiple purchases. Overall, contributing to a more engaging and satisfying shopping experience.

My Role

I was the sole UX/UI designer on an agile team of stakeholders, project managers, subject matter experts, developers, and quality assurance testers. I was responsible for determining the overall design direction of the project, while collaborating with the rest of the team on ideation.

Competitive Analysis

Conducting competitor analysis was essential for gaining valuable insights into market trends, consumer preferences, and industry best practices. By examining the strategies and product offerings of our competitors. A thorough period of analysis allowed us:

Strategic Insight
Insights into market trends, consumer preferences, and industry strategies, allowed us to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.

Adaptability and Relevance
Analysis of competitors helps us stay agile, adapt to changing market dynamics, and establish a unique value proposition, ensuring we remain relevant and responsive to customer needs.

Performance Benchmarking
By understanding the strengths and weaknesses of rivals, we can benchmark our performance, refine marketing strategies and enhance product offerings to stay competitive.

Adding Swatches to the PLP

Problem
The poor product attribution hinders the search experience on site. As a direct result we’re seeing an increase in site abandonment and a decrease in the number of items in cart per user.

Solution
Add swatches to provide potential buyers with a closer look at different variations of a particular jewelry piece. This not only helps users make informed decisions by adding a level of transparency, it cuts down on the number duplicate products per search.

More Like This

Problem
Jedora was experiencing a low item per checkout rate which indicated that customers are not finding enough value or variety in their shopping experience. this leads to fewer transactions and a diminished average order value.

Solution
Improve product discoverability by featuring related “More Like This” products that complement the customer's shopping journey. This not only encourages upselling but also facilitates the creation of a cohesive and stylish ensemble.

Upping the Interaction Design

A positive spin
In the rare case that there are no related products to show in the MLT row we are showing empty state messaging but with a positive spin. I created a subtly animated illustration that aligns with the Jedora branding.

Delayed Row Load
In the case that a MLT row is taking longer than expected to load in, I came up with a simple but effective animation that lets the user know that their click has registered and the row is loading.
